Do I need a prescription for physical therapy?

Most insurances do not pay for physical therapy if it is not ordered by a physician on a prescription. In the state of Florida, you can attend physical therapy as a self-pay patient for 21 days; if you have seen a physician in the past 60 days for the condition being treated.

 

Do I have to go to the therapy company my doctor suggested?

No, a prescription for physical therapy is like a prescription for medicine. You can go to any physical therapist just like you can go to any pharmacy.

 

How do I schedule an appointment?

You can call the clinic that you would like to attend and we will be happy to arrange an appointment at your convenience.

 

What should I bring to my first appointment?

You should bring picture identification, insurance cards, prescription from your physician and any test results you may have like X-ray reports or MRI reports.

 

How long is each appointment?

Each appointment is approximately one hour.

 

What should I wear?

You should wear clothing that will allow easy access to the body part that we will be treating. If necessary, there are patient gowns available for you to use.

 

What are your hours?

Appointments are available from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. There are also lunch time appointments available.

 

What should I expect on my first visit?

A physical therapist will discuss your diagnosis and evaluate you for the treatment prescribed by your physician.  You will be asked what your goals are with regards to therapy and a specific plan of care will be established to help you achieve your goals.

 

How do I cancel an appointment?

When able, please give 24 hours notice to cancel an appointment.  Our staff is happy to reschedule your appointment to a more convenient time.
